Mild Steel
CoxMHP has experience in mild steel manufacturing for more than 20 years.
Mild Steel is a carbon steel used for its ease in manipulating and abundance. As the carbon percentage becomes higher the steel has the ability to become harder. It can be made to increase the strength from heat treatment. This lowers the weldability and the melting point.
CoxMHP uses mild steel to set up carbon based solutions for tools and dies. Mild steel has a maximum limit of .2% carbon. The proportions of copper, silicon and manganese are fixed. Cobalt and other materials like nickel are not. A higher amount of carbon makes steels different from low carbon mild-type steels. A greater amount of carbon makes steel stronger and harder. The higher carbon content decreases the ductility of the alloy. This is typically a low carbon steel making it ideal for many manufactured tools.
Mild Steel can become vulnerable to rust, but we take measures to prevent this from happening. CoxMHP utilizes every step possible to make your product the best it can be, and without compromise we can manufacture any tool or piece for your business.
CoxMHP is certified by the Aeronautics Management Program, and can show you how we’re the best fit for your project and bring solutions to the table for your design.
