Silver Wire Brazing
Silver brazing is a silver alloy based filler brazing sometimes called hard soldering. They have several other percentages of metals like zinc, copper and cadmium. CoxMHP uses these tools to fasten hardmetal ceramics, cement, carbide and similar. “Pretinning” is used to melt the brazed alloy onto the hardmetal tip, then placed next to steel and remelted. Pretinning helps deal with hardmetals being difficult to wet.
Braze metal joints are thick enough to give cushion, and the alloy forms composites with the other materials. You want the joint stronger than the base materials. Pinbrazing is a special silver brazing used for railway and cable connections. The silver brazing pins are melted down into the eye of the cable. Batteries usually power the equipment.
